Freeserve, Britain's leading Internet portal and Internet Service Provider (ISP) with over 4.7 million users per month, last week launched Freeserve Bingo together with Swedish casino software supplier Boss Media and the long-established British gaming company Victor Chandler.
Freeserve is aiming to take part of the traditional bingo market, which is worth around £1.1 billion ($1.69 billion) in the UK. Land-based bingo halls in the UK had around 95 million visits last year -- seven times more than the number of visits to league football matches. 'We are very pleased with the deal for several reasons. Naturally, we have great hopes of future royalty revenues with a partner that has millions of customers, but in addition Freeserve and Victor Chandler are good reference customers in the British gaming market. The deal shows that we have created a good bingo product that can be sold to demanding customers even in its first month,' said Peter Bertilsson, President and CEO of Boss Media.
Boss Media's bingo software, launched this year, is seen as a future niche growth area to complement the casino software that has been the company's main product to date. Freeserve is the first major customer to choose Boss Media's bingo platform.
