Millions won in California Lotto
By Earl
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Andy Kampe, 57, who won the recent California Lotto jackpot for over 64 million dollars, is not going to be like all those other people who claim their great fortunes are not going to make any great differences in their lives. “I fired myself today, and my wife called in rich,' Kampe said. The happy man reportedly beamed nervously as he faced the press and lottery executives to officially claim his prize. Kampe will give up his contracting and engineering company near Half Moon Bay and his wife, Diane, is giving up nursing at a clinic. The family whooped and screamed around the dining table when Kampe read the winning numbers for Saturday from the newspaper.

'I'm going to play,' Kampe said. 'I've worked real hard. I'm going to travel, get toys, you know, those dreams people have. I'll probably get myself a pretty hot car.' He suggested a Porsche. Their daughter, Amanda Valerino, 27, said that her dad just gave her a $53,000 Toyota Land Cruiser. 'My dad -- he's the sweetest person I know,' Valerino said. “I don't know what I'd do without my dad. He should be president.”

Kampe will get his money in 26 annual payments, the first one to come in two weeks in the amount of $1.6 million. That’s before taxes. The checks will increase over time and the last one will be for $3.2 million.
