Whilst Nevada prepares itself for the introduction of online gaming in casinos, sports sites are left torn between conforming to guidelines set out by leagues they are affiliated to and the temptation of an easy increase in profits, which is just what the industry needs right now. Nevada has become the first state in the USA to approve online gambling and as a result has sparked a great deal of controversy throughout the country. Whilst the sport will offer sites such as ESPN and Sports line the chance to build their customer base tremendously, the recent bout of legislation going through the Senate, which is supported by professional leagues, reinforces the stance that betting online or through legal bookmakers is not condoned. In response, the Nevada Legislature has promised to ensure that legalized sites will be forced to take drastic measures to make sure that minors and those from states where online gaming is prohibited are prevented from gambling.
