|The Responsibility in Gambling Trust (RIGT) announces the departure of its director, Robin Burgess, after 19 months in post. Robin will be leaving to take up new opportunities in the substance misuse field, where until joining RIGT, he had spent the vast majority of his career.|
In the interim Malcolm Bruce, the current deputy Director, will become acting director.
For the Trust, the Chairman, John Greenway said:
“RIGT is sorry to announce the departure of its director, Robin Burgess, who is leaving to return to working in substance misuse. In his time at RIGT, Robin has brought a great deal to its direction and development, especially in regard to research and education. We wish him well. Robin’s formal last day in post will be 13th August, although he is on holiday for the latter part of this period. The current deputy director, Malcolm Bruce, will become acting Director.”
Robin Burgess said:
“I will be leaving to take up an exciting new opportunity in the substance misuse field, where, until joining RIGT, I have always worked and to which I wish to return. I have enjoyed my time at RIGT and wish it the greatest success in the future. I believe the new chairman, for whom I have the highest regard, will be a real asset to the charity and I look forward to seeing the Trust continue to develop under his chairmanship”
