|In recent weeks, Blue Genie Gaming SA has been busy recruiting experienced online gaming professionals in preparation for the release of its new online casino, BlueGenie. The launch is expected in the third quarter of this year, and will initially consist of casino and poker products, with plans for a bingo section during the second quarter of 2007.|
The recruitment drive has brought in some key names including Robert Evans, formerly of Nine.com before it was acquired by Leisure and Gaming plc earlier this year. Evans will become Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, whilst Chris Calisto comes in as Chief Financial Officer.
“Chris has an impressive finance related background as a partner in his former private equity company Golden Triangle Capital as well as his own firm Calisto & Company,” said Blue Genie Gaming CEO Robert Moran, revealing that Calisto will handle all financial related aspects of the company.
Moran continued to suggest that the launch wouldn’t be affected by the pending Internet gaming prohibition vote passing through the United States Senate. “Our analysts say that with only about seven or eight weeks left for this newly merged House bill to wind itself through the various Senate committees, is not enough time for the bill to progress further,” he said.
