|Ladbrokes, the UK's largest bookmaker, has announced plans to licence its online casino game 'Balls' to rival companies. |
The high-speed lottery game, where six balls are drawn every minute, costs from 10p (14 cents) to play and players can win up to £100,000 (US$144,000).
However, Ladbrokes said the top prizes could exceed £1m via pooled jackpots if plans to licence the game to other online bookmakers are successful.
Ladbrokes’ eGaming business managing director, John O’Reilly, said: “We’re continually seeking new ways to refresh our eGaming proposition for customers, and casino games represent a massive growth opportunity for the business.”
“The commercial success of Balls highlights the popularity of instant-win, casino-style numbers games, and we hope that by tying up with other operators we can take Balls to an even wider audience,” he added. It is estimated that around 260,000 customers from 160 countries bet on Ladbrokes internet sites.
