|The Compliance Committee of eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance has released its findings from a report carried out by independent external auditors, into an incident concerning misleading search engine optimisation practices being conducted by the Jackpot Factory group. |
The committee, which is made up of Chairman Mr W Galston OBE, Mr F Catania and Mr Hirst OBE, received the report of an independent and on-site investigation covering the circumstances surrounding the issue, its causes and effects and the remedial actions taken by the company.
The consideration of the committee is to reinstate Jackpot Factory’s eCOGRA ‘Play it Safe’ seal, on the condition of increased monitoring to ensure the group’s compliance with the new code of practice, so to ensure the removal of all traces of the campaign. The committee also asserted that although it was aware of the existence of inactive search engine links, it was ‘satisfied that these do not provide access to any offensive material.’
Following the ruling, the committee extended its thanks to those representing the interests of the players, and also noted that the investigation team received the full cooperation of the Jackpot Factory management.
