|The Victoria Herald Sun reports that on Good Friday a gunman nearly hit several customers on the steps of the Crown Casino as he sprayed bullets all around in anger. It began after a drunken brawl in one of the casino’s most popular drinking spots. A shot was heard. Two citizens identified as Fabian Tukapua and Aiden Nepia, both in their twenties, reported that it happened after a stranger pulled a pistol on them, but opened up, outside the Galactic Circus amusement center, about 7.30 AM. They could not believe it. It all ended up without anyone injured or killed, but it didn’t look as if that would be the case when it started out. ‘He actually ran up the stairs pointing it at us,’ Mr. Tukapua said. |
Bill Horman, a spokesman for the Crown Casino, said he was shocked. He said the gaming part of the casino had been shut from 4 AM and would be closed until noon. But the trouble may not have been started over any gambler’s disappointment. All the usual gambling patrons had gone and left the complex. Mr. Tukapua revealed that the brawl had started in the Bar Code after his girlfriend began fighting with another woman. The gunman joined in. Someone dashed him one over the head with a glass. Later, having recovered, at least well enough to walk, the gunman waited for Tukapua and Nepia in Whiteman Street. ‘He got his gun and started shooting at everyone. I was shocked,’ Tukapua said.
What a neighborhood. It would never happen on the Internet.
