A man from Costa Rica is being sued by AG Corp after allegedly using the company’s domain name. Las Vegas Casino Alliance Gaming Corp has sued a Costa Rican man in order to prevent him from using the domain name www.alliancegaming.com to allegedly divert those looking for Alliance’s site, to three of his own gambling websites www.cascadesportsbook.com, www.royalislandcasino.com and www.turbocasino.com . The U.S District Court heard that Alliance Gaming Corp which operates more than 8,800 gaming machines felt that Mr Highfield was giving the impression that the company are involved in activities deemed illegal in the USA. Alliance is seeking to claim back any profits made by Highfield icluding any advertising generated from the site. Highfield disputed the charge. He claims to have bought the site without knowing that Alliance gaming “existed” and that he had no qualms about “relinquishing” the domain name provided the company pays for it.
