|Sportsbook.com has posted odds on who will be declared the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year for 2006.|
Tiger Woods and Roger Federer are the two most likely winners of one of the most prestigious awards in sport.
Woods, a two-time recipient of the award (1996 and 2000), is the favourite at 5-2 after winning the British Open and PGA Championship and putting together a streak of five straight tournament wins.
Federer continues to dominate the ATP tour and is regarded by many as potentially the greatest tennis player of all-time. He has compiled an incredible 85-5 record with 11 titles in 16 tournaments entered and is a 5-1 bet to take this title as well.
Last year's winner of the award was Tom Brady, quarterback of the New England Patriots. At the time, Brady was given 10-1 odds to win, behind Federer, Armstrong, Woods and Matt Leinart, proving once again that the favourites are not always the best bet.
