Game On for Online Poker Players
By James Mc was celebrating this week following the impressive performances of five of its online poker players at the inaugural Ongame Network Poker Classic Championship in Barcelona, Spain.

Five Team players from the United States and New Zealand took home nearly half-a-million dollars in prize money from the final table of nine, at the Casino de Barcelona at the weekend.

The tournament was split into two sections with the top 45 players from the online final on November 4 being flown to the live final in Barcelona to continue with the same chip stacks accumulated online. A total of 273 players qualified for the online final, with 16 Team players making the Barcelona event, taking home a total of $600,000 in prize money.

The five players who made the final table were:

Second place - Ben 'Kill U' Blair, US - $155,729.50

Fourth place - David 'Stuart531' Whalen, US - $99,034.00

Fifth place - James 'jimdownunder' Honeybone, New Zealand - $84,970.00

Seventh place - David 'Davidp18' Peters, US - $56,549.00

Eight place - Douglas 'deadblind' Smith, US $42,485.00

UK based Stuart 'foxystong' Fox, battled past all competitors to take first place, winning $239,383.75 and the $10,000 Gold-and-Ruby card protector trophy.
