|The European Poker Tour (EPT), sponsored by PokerStars.com, has announced that a new event in Warsaw, Poland, has been added to the schedule for Season 3.|
The inaugural Warsaw EPT, scheduled to take place on 14-17 March 2007, will have a maximum capacity of 300 players and a 15,000 Zloty buy-in (approximately €3,900), with the no limit Texas Hold’em tournament taking place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
EPT chief executive John Duthie explained, “An EPT tournament in Poland will help raise the game’s profile in Eastern Europe, and we have secured a world class venue to host the event in Warsaw. This tournament is not going to be televised, but I see this as an exciting first step for the tour.”
The EPT is Europe’s richest poker tour with over €7 million paid out in prize money so far in Season 3, with more than 500 players winning EPT seats via PokerStars.com.
The Remaining events of EPT Season 3 include the EPT Scandinavian Open, Copenhagen, Denmark (17-20 January), EPT French Open, Deauville, France (20-24 February), EPT Dortmund, Germany (8-11 March), EPT Warsaw, Poland (14-17 March), and the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo, Monaco (28 March - 1 April).
