|The International Gaming Conference & Expo (IGCE) has confirmed that its May 6-8 event will be held in Dublin, Ireland at the central four-star Burlington Hotel.|
“After our successes in 2006 we focused on securing a locale that would take into consideration the changing political and governmental landscape as well as the various markets that indicated a desire to attend IGCE,” said Director of conferences Federico Schiavio.
“In the process, we strove for a premier destination and the original choice was Cancun, Mexico but the 'degree of difficulty' in travelling there from Europe, in particular, offset the ambience.”
Schiavio concluded, “San Jose, Costa Rica, quickly became a substitute because of the preponderance of the market located there but, again, travel via the US for many was a near impossibility based upon recent legislation. Dublin was accessible for all of Europe and Asia.”
This year’s conference poses the question 'What's Next?' for the future of the gambling industry in the US and abroad.
