|GamArena Ab has signed a distribution agreement with Belgian newspaper ‘Het Nieuwsblad.’ The company will provide for online readers via their GamArena skill games network. The agreement means that one of Belgium’s largest newspapers will offer visitors a safe and secure environment in which to enjoy a wide range of next generation skill games, including 8-Ball Pool, Backgammon, Solitaire and Golf Hole-in-One.|
Andrew Pegler, Managing Director of GamArena, made it clear that he was “extremely excited to be working with such a premium media brand as Het Nieuwsblad.”
The two companies are collaborating to launch a white label site in May 2007. The site will be fully branded as Nieuwsblad.be, winning the approval of the paper’s parent company Corelio Media Group. In addition to the current arrangement, Corelio’s online business is expected to grow, and GamArena hopes to expand alongside it, providing peer-to-peer content and support services.
“Games will become an important piece of our online offering and p2p skill games provide enormous entertainment to players,” said Patrick Salien, Managing Director of Nieuwsblad.be. “We have been really impressed by the quality of the GamArena proposition to date and we fully expect our audience to do likewise.”
