The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Associationís (iMEGA) bid to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), and act introduced by the US in 2006, has finally gained momentum after a Federal Judge assigned a September 4 hearing date for the iMEGA lawsuit filed on June 5.

IMEGAís lawsuit filings made a request for a temporary restraining order to stop US banks from having to implement the range of policies that already exist or may be created by the Treasury and the Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, until the courts have heard the full set of arguments on the UIGEA.

Judge Mary L. Cooper of the US District Court in Trenton, New Jersey will preside over the hearing.
