|Leading online betting site, Betfair, has announced the action-packed launch of the first-ever Betfair Turbo Tennis event at the O2 arena.|
The event, which takes places on September 15, will see the cream of British and international tennis talent, including Andy Murray, Tim Henman, and Goran Ivanisevic, competing for a $100,000 prize fund using a unique new tennis format.
Betfair Turbo tennis has reinvented the notoriously drawn out men’s matches to create a shorter, punchier game. The event will stage 30 minute matches - with ‘sudden death’ points replacing deuces, giving tennis buffs the kind of fast paced play that isn’t even matched at Wimbledon.
Philippa Mackinnon, Betfair’s Senior Marketing Manager, said: “Betfair is all about bringing innovation and excitement to sport through our unique betting exchange, and we love the way Betfair Turbo Tennis puts a new spin on an established concept. It’s the sort of idea that we built our success on and hopefully this will be great for tennis, getting more people excited about playing and watching the sport.”
