Antigua-Barbuda Confident Over UK White List
By Miriam H
Antigua and Barbuda, has stated that it is certain that it fulfills the correct criteria to join the UK government’s white list, thereby avoiding the restrictions on gambling advertisements from offshore companies that comes into effect from September 1.

The UK’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) last week published the 'white list' of areas that will be permitted to continue advertising their country’s gambling services on television, radio and in print although they fall outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

The Isle of Man and Alderney were admitted onto the DCMS white list last week whist Antigua is still under consideration with the Netherlands Antilles looking to have the relevant measures in place by December.

According to Errol Cort, Finance Minister of the Caribbean nation of 75,000, Antigua should secure its place on the list because its 'regulatory and licensing objectives are parallel to the UK's intended remote gaming regulatory regime”.
