|Solicitor and advocate Claire Milne has been unveiled as the new Chairperson for the Isle Of Man’s Gambling Supervision Commission.|
Isle Of Man-born Milne has a background in intellectual property, information technology law and data protection including e-money, e-commerce and e-gaming and replaces outgoing Chairperson, Jane O’Rourke.
Local advocate Jerry Carter has also been appointed as a member of the Commission.
“The recent placing of the Isle Of Man on the United Kingdom ‘white list’, which allows Isle Of Man-based e-Gaming companies to market in the UK, has highlighted the importance of the e-gaming sector to the Isle Of Man’s economy,' said James Anthony Brown, the Chief Minister for the Isle Of Man.
'The regulator of the sector, that is the Gambling Supervision Commission, has an important and high profile role to undertake in ensuring that the sector is effectively regulated. I am, therefore, delighted to be able to announce that we have been successful in appointing such high calibre individuals.”
