Facebook Gets a Superpoke
By Miriam H
Leading social networking site Facebook.com has announced that it has become a popular haven for poker buffs from the US and other countries, with over 140,000 users playing the site’s Texas Hold’em game on a daily basis.

The poker application is available for free to 40 million Facebook users worldwide with players scooping winning prizes in the form of virtual poker chips, evading UIGEA infringement.

Players who sign up to Facebook’s poker service can indulge in 200 free chips and get their hands on a further 500 for every friend they invite to use the application.

Texas Hold’em is one of many gaming outlets on the site which also hosts numerous online poker events between the site’s users and houses the BetsGoWild.com gambling application which s poses questions such as 'Should the legal drinking age in America be reduced to 18?' for players to bet on.
