New Protection Against Online Fraud

Safewww and Clearpay have unveiled a new system that could help to guarantee online payment and minimize fraud at gaming sites. By integrating Safewww’s IDshield software with Clearpay’s ClearChex payment system they offer online casino users an online account that they can fill directly from their checking account, without the need for credit or smart cards. Safewww have stressed that the with major credit card companies getting more nervous about the online gaming industry, alternative means of payment are going to become even more important. Robert Madden of Clearpay explained ‘By integrating the easy to use IDshield product into ClearChex, we ensure that our customers can do business in a fraud-free environment.’ He also said ‘This is ideal for the online gaming market, allowing users to immediately reap their winnings, and casinos to offer secure payment method to their users.’ The new system by Safewww and Clearpay seems well timed after the Tropika group of online casinos were shut down by Microgaming for not paying out to winning players. Fraud is still an issue that keeps many away from online gaming, despite the many measures of regulation now in place to protect players.
