|The long rumoured merger between online poker firms 24hPoker.com and Martinspoker.com has been finalised with the combined companies now falling under the new Casablanca Gaming Group AB moniker, which will be based in Malta.|
Under the deal, Casablanca will be a company of 24hPoker AB with Martinspoker.com operated under 24hPay Ltd on the Mediterranean island nation. They are to provide different gaming services in cooperation with software providers.
The Chief Executive Officer for 24hPoker.com, Peter Anstrom, said that his company had recently announced staff cuts but that the newly formed Casablanca would be able to operate his company’s online poker site more efficiently, enabling 24hPoker.com to focus on supplier operations.
Claus Nielson of Martinspoker.com is to serve as Chief Executive Officer for Casablanca while 24hPoker.com, as the majority shareholder of the joint venture, will continue to design proprietary software systems for online gaming operations only in larger capacities.
In addition, Sweden’s 24hPoker.com will continue selling and developing online gaming platforms for operators that would like to conduct gaming operations under their own brand.
The deal will see Casablanca operate the 24hPoker, Martinspoker, Staffpoker and Danepoker brands, home to some of the most popular Scandinavian gaming sites, while also adding more brands in the future.
Finally, the customer database, among other properties of 24hPoker.com, is to be transferred to Casablanca’s Maltese subsidiary.
