Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank has announced that another major politician has agreed to co-sponsor his Internet Gambling Regulation And Enforcement Act (IGREA) proposal, which takes the total number of those voicing their support in the body to 39.
Joining others who have voiced support for IGREA and agreed to co-sponsor the legislation, Representative Steve Cohen from Tennessee is a lawyer by profession who serves on The US House Of Representatives’ Judiciary subcommittees for courts, the Internet and intellectual property alongside those for the Constitution and civil rights. He is also a supporter of an attempt to legalise poker as a skill game proposed by Florida Representative Robert Wexler.
Officially known as House Of Representatives 2046, IGREA would regulate, license and tax online gambling in the United States but has been slow to gather momentum in Congress. |
