Online casino Mansion.com has announced that one lucky poker player has walked away with over $225,000 after taking home two event titles on consecutive days.
Finland’s ‘Saage’ won the Texas hold ‘em Grand Tournament on December 30 to take home $203,040 after having already won $22,875 by triumphing at the Euro Grand Prix $70,000 Guaranteed Tournament on December 29.
Mansion.com said that ‘Saage’ had to survive a large pool of 847 players to win the Grand Tournament, his first major win at the site, with next week’s Grand Tournament probably attracting similar interest as it is offering a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The Gibraltar-based site stated that players could buy-in directly for $1,040 or participate in one of several online qualifiers throughout the month for as little as one dollar.
The Grand Tournament will take place with a no-limit hold ‘em freezeout ‘flights’ format featuring a 10,000 chip starting stack, a 30-minute blind structure and the option of two starting days, January 25 or 26. Surviving players from both heats are to automatically earn a ticket to the final with their 'flight' chip stacks carried over. |
