|Domicilium, an Isle of Man-based designer of secure Internet solutions for the online banking and gambling industries, announced that its nomination for an honour at the recent DatacenterDynamics Leaders' Awards was a welcome surprise.|
The awards were held in London in early-December and saw Domicilium nominated for the Innovation in an Outsourced Environment prize in recognition for its efforts in providing high availability and highly secure hosting services for over a decade.
“Just being nominated for such a prestigious award speaks volumes about Domicilium,” said Phil Adcock, founder and Chief Technology Officer of Domicilium.
“We were proud to see our name ranked alongside companies that are known and respected throughout the industry.
“Moreover, by making it onto the shortlist of finalists, Domicilium has achieved recognition for its investment in a new and technologically advanced 21,500 square foot facility near Castletown on the Isle of Man.”
Adcock stated that the Isle of Man is an ideal location for companies requiring high availability, hosting and managed services for main production and outsourced applications such as IT continuity and disaster recovery.
He said that the island is well served by UK airports with plenty of skilled sub-contractors, key suppliers and spare parts inventories available more or less on-site around the clock.
In addition, the Isle of Man has an abundance of power from its gas-powered power stations, hydroelectric plant and recently commissioned waste-powered generator along with being a main breakout point for cross-channel fibre links from London and Manchester along with having a variety of carriers terminating.
There is also room to grow as Domicilium has an option to expand its existing facility by 100,000 square feet through options on adjacent space available for conversion.
