Online Sportsbetting From Partouche
By Staff
French casino operator Partouche is to launch an online sportsbetting presence in advance of the Euro 2008 Football Championships being held this June in Switzerland and Austria.

Targeting UK residents, PartoucheGaming.com is to be in English and shape its promotional campaign around former Manchester United soccer star Eric Cantona. Ten years after retiring from professional football, Frenchman Cantona remains an iconic figure on both sides of the English Channel and was an inaugural inductee of the English Football Hall Of Fame in 2002.

The former French international player also finished top in a 2005 global survey to find the best player in the English Premier League’s history.

Developed by LiveBetting.com before it was acquired by Partouche, the website will not serve France-based customers as this is illegal under current legislation.

“Before June, Partouche Interactive will be a leading operator on the web after Gibraltar on the UK market,” said Patrick Partouche, Chairman of the French casino operator.

“I will prevent French people from accessing this website.”

Partouche has also acquired poker software from Red Planet Gaming, which received an award at the recent International Casino Exhibition (ICE) in London, with the view to developing a similar product for the poker market later this year.
