|Online poker phenom Annette Obrestad was awarded the Golden Hand prize plus two other accolades at the second annual Scandinavian Poker Awards in Copenhagen last week.|
It has been a very successful year for the Norwegian teenager after winning the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe competition in September along with its two million dollar prize. The largest single cash win outside of Las Vegas, this accomplishment also saw her secure the Best Performance of the Year award along with the Best Female Player title at the Awards.
The 19-year-old beat fellow Norwegian Trond Erik Eidsvig for the ‘Gullhanda’ prize in a heads up match after being nominated through an online vote. The previous winner of the Golden Hand, Thor Hansen, is a two-time WSOP bracelet holder.
Obrestad also became the youngest winner at the European Poker Awards in December when she carried off the accolade for Tournament Performance of the Year.
