|Irish games site Skillgame.com has announced that its latest venture, UTourGolf, is doing great business and has seen almost 900 players a day since its launch in September.|
Skillground.com launched the game in Beta format last year before announcing a new challenge option, handicap play, mini-games and player created tournaments two months later.
UTourGolf is essentially a full-on out-of-the-box multiplayer PC game with software from the site’s owner, Groove Games, which can be played for free or for money with the prospect of winning prizes.
“Like real golf, you never play a game exactly the same way,” said Michael Haines, Managing Director of Groove Games.
“That’s what’s so appealing about it. The variables are always changing like weather and wind conditions, pin and tee placements, green speed and the length of the rough.”
SkillGround.com features a proprietary and completely open skill ranking system designed to ensure players compete in a fair environment. Competitors can go head-to-head or take part in tiered tournaments from rookies to legend using UTourGolf’s automatic skill matching feature.
The game launched with three golf courses inspired by actual locations around the world with further locations planned and offers multiple game rules including traditional stroke play and Stableford Plus.
