Online Poker Champ Wins $434,700

One lucky winner walked away with $434,700 last week after taking top spot at iPoker network’s Two Million Dollar guaranteed online poker tournament.

iPoker said that the event lasted 14 hours and attracted 1,380 players with buy-ins increasing the guaranteed prize pool by a further $70,000 to produce six-figure awards for the top five finishers.

Online player ’lekkimmd’ took top spot while second place and its $227,700 reward went to ‘sigge79’. Third place finisher ‘dypwhuer’ walked away with $165,600 while fourth spot and its $124,200 prize went to ‘florin76’. Fifth placed finisher ‘fishface1’ won $103,500 followed by ‘bearbeer’ at $82,800, ‘RakIsUnderAttack’ at $62,100 and ‘foxystu’ at $41,400. Rounding out the top ten were ‘IampinbaLL’ and ‘Unattended1’ who took home $28,980 and $20,700 respectively.

The network stated that it was pleased with the response and is planning further such tournaments in the future but also reminded players that the European Championships of Online Poker starts on May 23 before finishing on June 1. It said buy-ins for the Main Event begin at $1,060 but players may also qualify through daily satellites.
