Loebig Takes Over Reins At MultiMedia Games

Leading American electronic content developer and supplier Multimedia Games has announced that its Executive Vice-President of Sales, Gary Loebig, has been appointed as its Interim President and Chief Executive Officer.

The Austin-based firm stated that Loebig is filling the position held since early-2003 by Clifton Lind, who is stepping down to spend more time with his family. Lind’s departure from the firm’s Board of Directors reduces its size to five members, all of which are considered ‘independent’ according to the corporate governance rules of the American stock market. Multimedia stated that it plans to engage in a search for a permanent head with Lind continuing to serve in a non-executive capacity during the transition period.

'During his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer, Clifton contributed greatly to Multimedia Games,” said Michael Maples, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Multimedia.

“Gary Loebig has strong relationships with our employees and customers and is well suited to assume the Chief Executive Officer responsibilities at this time. The company’s Board remains committed to maximising shareholder value.'

Loebig joined Multimedia as Vice President for New Market Development in late-1998 from Stuart Entertainment and was elected as Executive Vice-President of Sales in December of 2001. Since then, he has been responsible for establishing new market opportunities and managing and maintaining relationships with the firm’s customer base.
