PacificPoker Host WPC ‘Almost Freerolls’
By Staff
Online casino PacificPoker.com is hosting a series of one-cent qualifiers this week for seats at the weekend’s World Poker Crown (WPC) tournament.

The Gibraltar-based site stated that the one-off ‘almost freeroll’ poker games would be held every hour and offer players a final shot at getting on board the WPC, which starts April 26 and has a buy-in of $1,050. The qualifiers will be limited to a maximum of 500 participants and registration will open 30 minutes before each event starts.

Sponsored by 888.com, the WPC will be one of the largest online tournaments in history, boasting a three million dollar prize pool, which includes one million dollars for the winner. Professional players Dave Colclough, Julian Gardner and Michael Keiner have already confirmed they'll be playing while cricketer turned 888.com player Shane Warne will also join in the game.

Once the final table for the WPC has been decided over the Internet, play will be stopped and the finalists will be flown from wherever they are to Barcelona to finish the game live from May 6 to 10. Accommodation at a five-star hotel in the Spanish city is included for these lucky few for the duration of the event.

PacificPoker.com ran three exclusive WPC freerolls this week for Italian, French, German and Spanish players with the only requirement being that they had signed up through PokerListings.com.
