|According to a recent report from In-Stat, a technology research firm with offices in India and China, online gaming revenues from the Asia-Pacific region are expected to grow rapidly between now and 2013.|
The American firm stated that key factors driving that are likely to drive this growth include growing household Internet penetration, increased content development for online-specific games and the unique experience that virtual gaming offers.
'The online gaming market in Asia-Pacific is growing in tandem with the significant increase in consumer Internet use,' said Stephanie Ethier, Analyst for In-Stat.
'In addition, the number of market players is rapidly expanding. Therefore, improved content and a greater variety of games are keys to success in this market.'
In-Stat reported that total revenues from the Asia-Pacific online gaming market could reach $21.1 billion by 2013.
