Euro 2008 Quarter-Finals Beginning To Take Shape
By Staff
Most people were surprised that Turkey stole quarter-final qualification from a powerful Czech Republic side; few people were surprised that Spain and an on-fire Netherlands (fresh from astounding victories against France and Italy) qualified.

Portugal, the first qualifiers, will play the runner-up of Group B (likely to be pre-tournament favourites Germany).

If Germany beat Portugal and Croatia beat Turkey then an interesting rematch will be in order after Croatia’s shock defeat of the three-time world champions. The Netherlands will play the runner-up from Group D, which will be either Sweden or Russia in light of the early exit from current champions Greece.

Holland, Portugal, Spain and Germany all seem to be clear-cut favourites to win the tournament depending on who you ask, but the odds never lie – use a site such as OddsChecker to find the best bets.
