Clash Of The Favourites At Euro 2008
By Staff
Portugal stormed to the top of their group and became the first team to qualify for the knockout stages of Euro 2008; Germany thrashed Poland then fell at the second hurdle, shockingly bested by Croatia.

Finishing second in their group, the pre-tournament favourites are now not looking so strong as they once were. Portugal, on the other hand, have played a series of fine matches, losing only to Switzerland but fielding a half-strength side in a match which meant little, as they'd already qualified.

Whatever the result, it’s set to be an exciting match, however Germany look to be underdogs – they are feeling the strain from their desperate struggle to beat Austria and advance thus far, with top scorer Lukas Podolski, who has a calf injury, and Torsten Frings, who has broken a rib, fighting to even make the starting eleven.

Coral are offering the best price for a likely Portugal win at the time of reporting with 6/4; Germany’s best bet for a win is 9/4 at PaddyPower.
