Betfair To Make Summer Better
By Staff
Fans of online sportsbetting should watch out for special offers this summer from UK-based Internet betting firm Betfair as it launches its Together We Make Summer Better advertising campaign.

The brainchild of direct advertising agency Flourish, the campaign is set to target lapsed customers and encourage them to return to the site and bet on sporting events over the summer.

The campaign aims to make up for lost earnings caused by the failure of any home nations to qualify for the Euro 2008 soccer tournament in Austria and Switzerland and will showcase some of the UK's other sporting events that punters can take advantage of this summer. These include key horseracing events such as Glorious Goodwood alongside the Ryder Cup and the England Rugby tour.

'The campaign is designed as a celebration of this summer's sports leaving the disappointment of not participating at the Euro Championships behind,' said Rich Gundry, Account Director for Flourish.

Flourish was appointed to create the campaign following a three-way pitch and it will now replicate its proposition through both online and offline materials. It revealed that the campaign will highlight Betfair's key unique selling points by focusing on the better value Internet users can get from the website's peer-to-peer betting proposition.

'The campaign allows us to collectively group what are key blue-ribbon events over the summer months and reassert Betfair's value proposition,” said Matt Booth, Marketing Manager for Betfair UK.
