The Sports Network Extends Reach With Contec Alliance
The Sports Network, an American real-time sports wire service, has announced plans to expand its global reach through an alliance with Contec Innovations to open an office in Beijing, host city for the upcoming Olympics.
Contec is a mobile live news, sports, finance and entertainment media network and the two will co-develop mobile sports services for operators and media properties in emerging markets beginning with China and southeast Asia. The alliance will aim to produce real-time mobile value-added services on everything from the English Premiere League to the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL as well as dozens of internationally popular sports such as tennis, auto racing and golf.
“The Sports Network’s expansion, with offices in Beijing in concert with Contec, provides us with a partnership linking technologies that are without equal while offering the fastest and most accurate sports content for mobiles in the world,” said Mickey Charles, President and Chief Executive Officer for The Sports Network.
“Our initial offering is with the mobile content channels of Contec and we are looking forward to developing further opportunities with them in the months and years ahead. This is precisely the sort of alliance that maintains our position as the global leader in the area of sports on multiple and varied platforms.”
“We are delighted to form an alliance with The Sports Network to extend their reach into emerging markets and to co-develop compelling mobile services,” said Don Lay, President and Chief Executive Officer for Contec.
“The Sports Network has provided BUZmob with depth of world sports news coverage that will have huge appeal to service providers and mobile operators looking to rapidly create new services.”
