Betfair Signs Flourish Deal

Online sportsbetting firm Betfair is set to launch its Together We Make Summer Better advertising campaign after signing a deal with direct marketing agency Flourish.

Flourish was tasked to create a campaign to encourage lapsed players to return over the summer and its successful three-way pitch will now be replicated across all of the UK-based firm’s online and offline materials.

Together We Make Summer Better will showcase some of the UK's other summer sporting events including key horseracing events such as Glorious Goodwood alongside the Ryder Cup and the England Rugby tour. It is hoped that the campaign will help Betfair to recoup lost earnings caused by the failure of any home nations to qualify for the Euro 2008 soccer tournament held earlier in Austria and Switzerland.

'The campaign is designed as a celebration of this summer's sports leaving the disappointment of not participating at the Euro Championships behind,' said Rich Gundry, Account Director for Flourish.

The new campaign will highlight Betfair's key unique selling point by focusing on the better value Internet users can get from the website's peer-to-peer betting propositions.

'The campaign allows us to collectively group what are key blue-ribbon events over the summer months and reassert Betfair's value proposition,' said Matt Booth, Marketing manager for Betfair UK.
