UK-licensed online casino and sportsbetting site Bet365.com has announced that 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Jesper Hougaard has joined as its new poker ambassador.
As part of the deal, the 24-year-old Danish professional poker player will participate in bounty tournaments every two weeks alongside other activities hosted by Bet365.com. Hougaard will also represent the site and compete against some of the best players in the world in several land-based events including the European Poker Tour circuit.
The former professional ping-pong player and coach with the Danish National Table Tennis Team, Hougaard stated that he became interested in poker thanks to countryman and pro Gus Hansen. He won his WSOP bracelet alongside $610,000 after taking the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event in Las vegas earlier this summer.
The Copenhagen native will also launch his own blog in conjunction with Bet365.com in order to share his experiences in poker while the site will also catalogue his personal diary alongside strategy and tips.
