In Spain, Primera Liga soccer club Atletico Madrid has signed a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with Finnish gaming company PAF that will also see the launch of an official club gambling site early next year.
The site is to be a source of information for fans across the world and will include exclusive interviews with players and coaching staff. It will also give supporters odds on matches alongside chances to win match tickets and special packages.
“PAF is proud to become a new sponsor for Atletico Madrid,” said Anders Wiklund, Head of Business-to-Business for PAF
“This is an historic day for us, being able to team up with one of the best football clubs in Europe, which shares the same values as us, is a true honour for PAF. We have found a very like-minded club with a very good reputation, which is a cornerstone in this sponsorship agreement. PAF is dedicated to creating a win-win situation not only for the club but also for Atletico Madrid fans.'
In addition, PAF has secured the rights to advertise at the club’s ground, the 55,000-seat Vicente Calderon Stadium, and training ground until 2011.
Juan Carlos Moya, Commercial General Director for the Madrid-based team praised PAF’s pledge to distribute money to local charities and stated that the agreement was a ‘win-win situation for the club, for the fans and for charity’.
