The organisers of the upcoming CAP Euro: Barcelona conference, iGaming Business and CasinoAffiliatePrograms.com, have announced that Jamie Gold, champion of the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP), is to give the keynote address.
Gold is well known in the world of poker after winning the biggest jackpot in the history of the WSOP two years ago and will deliver the keynote speech on September 27. He is also a television producer and talent agent and will be taking time to hold a series of exclusive poker coaching lessons in the run-up to qualifiers for the Affiliate Series of Poker alongside an autograph signing session.
'It's indeed an honour to follow the legend, Doyle Brunson, in being the keynote speaker at this year's CAP Euro convention,” said Gold.
“I look forward to participating in discussions on how to maintain online poker's momentum and to personally thank all of you for helping make poker the global success it is today.
'There's no doubt that the explosion of poker around the world is directly connected to the emergence and phenomenal success of online poker. As well as making the game far more accessible, it has taken poker to entirely new levels, fuelled worldwide exposure through mainstream television sponsorship and, along the way, provided tutorage of gameplay and strategy.
“In short, it has turned the backroom game into front-room entertainment and, more importantly, a seemingly recession-proof global industry.”
'We're extremely honoured and excited for to bring Jamie Gold, an absolute legend in the world of poker, to all our associates at this year's CAP Euro: Barcelona,' said Lou Fabiano, President for CasinoAffiliatePrograms.com.
'There's no doubt that his presence will only add to CAP Euro's status as the premier affiliate marketing conference for the online gaming industry.'
