Isle of Man-based e-cash processor NETELLER has announced a payment and joint marketing deal with Born Group, a global e-commerce firm that operates the BornForSports online marketplace.
With one million members, Born Group manages a sports lifestyle oriented social network through BornForSports selling sports-style-fashion goods and services from selected merchants. It takes a commission on each sale and controls the payment processing through its Born Express e-wallet, powered by NETELLER.
Under the five-year contract, Born Group will implement a version NETELLER’s Payment Suite across its entire online merchants and brands network while also embedding a co-branded Born Express e-wallet into its marketplace platform to be used as the standard method of payment. NETELLER stated that this e-wallet would provide a safe and convenient way for customers to shop at BornForSports as it is authorised and regulated as an e-money issuer by the UK’s Financial Services Authority.
“With NETELLER handling all the complexities of payments, compliance, identity and regulation, we are able to focus on the distribution of our co-branded e-wallet and spend more time building supplier relationships and winning customers,” said Jean-Christophe Chopin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Born Group.
Through a joint marketing effort, the agreement will also offer preferential BornForSports goods and services to existing NETELLER customers and members.
“Born Group is a fast-growing, successful online business and we’re delighted they have chosen to work with NETELLER,” said Ron Martin, President and Chief Executive Officer for NETELLER.
“We see this agreement with Born Group as one of NETELLER’s key initiatives to generate a step-change in the number of active consumers using the NETELLER Payment Suite. We welcome their rapidly growing network of merchants and millions of members into our network and look forward to working with Born Group to develop further innovative payment solutions.”
