British Masters Golf Begins Today

With the latest instalment of the Ryder Cup finishing last weekend, the attention of the golf world now moves to England for the Quinn Insurance British Masters tournament.

Being held over the Brabazon Course at The Belfry near Sutton Coldfield, the British Masters will feature some of the nation’s best golfers and a prize fund rumoured to be over $3.34 million.

Thirty-five-year-old defending champion Lee Westwood is the favourite going into play with WillHill.com, Ladbrokes.com ToteSport.com offering the Englishman at odds of 10/1.

New Zealand native and former US Open champion Michael Campbell is second favourite with the bookies at odds of 14/1 with Boylesports.com, BlueSq.com and 888Sport.com.

Rounding out the list of favourites is Graeme McDowell from Northern Ireland at odds of 18/1 with Bet365.com and BetDirect.com followed by Ross Fisher at 22/1 and Darren Clarke at 25/1 with ToteSport.com.

Irishman Paul McGinley could be a good outside bet at odds of 35/1 with most sites including Bet365.com and StanJames.com as could Scottish player Colin Montgomerie closely behind at 40/1 with Boylesports.com and CanBet.com.
