|The Associated Press reports that a Fort Lauderdale woman claimed a $10 million Florida Lotto prize more than two months after she had tossed the winning ticket into a sewing drawer, thinking it was a minor win from a four-number match, that she would some day collect. Diane Charboneau, 55, a computer programmer, reportedly found the 6-number match, the May 29th winning ticket, among several other old tickets in the draw when she looked again at what she had. |
Thinking at first that she had only four of the winning numbers, “I thought that was nice,” she said. “When I checked all six numbers, I had them all. All I could say was, 'Oh my God, I have all of them.'
She and her companion, Robert Phillips, are considering retirement. The winner said she would donate some of her winnings to charity.
