British online gaming operator William Hill has announced that a lucky nurse from West Yorkshire walked away $315,092 richer last month after placing a $3.15 bet on three Irish Lottery draw games.
The winning player, who wishes to remain anonymous, had opened her account with WillHill.com only ten days earlier placing a total of $18.89 in wagers alongside a few games on WilliamHillBingo.com. However, she correctly guessed numbers 03, 12, 16, 28 and 43 for the October 25 five-fold wager before all appeared at odds of 100,000/1.
'I had done the occasional Irish Lottery bet in the past so, when I opened my online account to play bingo with William Hill, I thought I would give it a go again,” said the winner.
“I'm really glad I did now. I never imagined in a million years that I would win this sort of money and it's actually a bit of a shock. There are too many noughts for me to comprehend.”
Since January, William Hill stated that it has had numerous big winners including a man from Oxfordshire who won $1.73 million from a stake of $4.72 at WilliamHillCasino.com. In addition, there was Fred Craggs from Yorkshire who landed an eight-horse accumulator and $1.57 million for just a stake of 78 cents.
“Making $315,073 profit in ten days is some return for $18.89,” said Jennie Prest, Spokesperson for London-based William Hill.
'What credit crunch? William Hill is certainly becoming the place for big winners. As well as Fred Craggs, who won $1.57 million pounds for 78 cents back in February, we've had two casino millionaires and we've paid out numerous six-figure jackpots to online punters this year alone. These are life changing amounts of money for very small investments and, with a slice of luck, these peoples dreams are coming true.'
