Isle of Man-licensed online poker room PokerStars.com has announced that 7,836 players took part in this week’s Sunday Millions competition to help the jackpot exceed the $1.5 million guarantee for the first time since August 24.
Sunday Millions created a total prize pool of $1,567,200 and was won by online competitor ‘Metzmagny’. He took home a total of $147,822 for the victory after agreeing to a chip-chop with the remaining three players as the competition neared its conclusion before going on to battle it out for the remaining $30,000.
The fifth-placed competitor for the $215 buy-in event, ‘Stammdogg’, won $55,635 before the remaining players agreed their deal. This worked out well for ‘Jiacstrap’, who took home more money than his second and third-placed counterparts, $122,067, even after finishing in fourth spot. Third-placed ‘H2oace’ went home with a hefty $105,772, which was slightly more than the $104,842 given to runner-up ‘Idgii’, who battled bravely in the final heads-up match despite being at a massive disadvantage in chips.
