Used Car salesman favourite to win Survivor 5

Love them or loathe them, Reality TV shows have become a pop-cultural phenomenon, and, as online sports books have discovered, they are ideal betting fodder as well.

So, with the cast of the latest season of CBS’ hit Survivor announced last week, we present you with the odds on who will win, courtesy of BoDog online sportsbook.

Unless you’ve been on a desert island yourself for the past year or so, you’ll know that the winner, apart from being handy with a coconut and a pair of sticks, often has the vital traits of duplicity and deviousness in equal measure.

So it’s no surprise to hear that the favourite to win Survivor 5: Thailand is Brian Heidik, a used car salesperson. Heidik is currently 3/1 to outlast the other 15 contestants.

'He's got everything you look for in a Survivor winner,' said Rob Gillespie, BoDog's Operations Manager. 'He's athletic, intelligent and best of all, he's a used car salesmen, so you know he's used to being less than honest to get what he wants.'

Gillespie said of the show: ”The show's popularity basically demands that we offer this to our clients. In terms of non-sporting events, it's one of the most watched competitive television events in the world.”

Stephanie Dill, a Fire Fighter from Arkansas, is the top-rated female contestant at 4/1. Odds are offered for all 16 contestants.

Bodog is also offering odds on other reality TV shows: Fox's American Idol: Search for a Superstar is also listed, as is CBS' other reality show, Big Brother 3.
