Solihull-based online games developer JPM Interactive has announced that its Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? skill with prizes (SWP) title can now be played at Internet casino and sportsbook Ladbrokes.com.
The game is based on the existing SWP format where a player chooses a stake and this, in turn, alters the highest amount that can be won on the prize tree. Stakes begin at one pound for a potential reward of £20 and increase up to five pounds for a top prize of £100.
Just like the television game, questions are asked with the rewards increasing for every correct answer. In addition, questions get progressively harder the higher up the ladder a player goes.
Players can win the three famous lifelines if they correctly complete the ‘fastest finger first’ round at the beginning of the game. The more correct answers a player gets, the more lifelines they receive, while getting the questions wrong will still see them progress to the prize tree but without any lifelines.
Also mimicking the television programme, there are guaranteed prize levels at both 1,000 and 32,000 points if the stake allows for a prize at these levels and players reaching these milestones will be asked if they would like to continue playing or collect the prize. If a player continues and then incorrectly answers a question, their reward will then revert to the guaranteed prize level.
All questions must be answered against the clock and the game ends if time runs out. However, players get a second chance if they incorrectly answer the first question in a game.
“Millionaire is one of the most popular SWP games ever and it is only a natural progression to have it online,” said Duncan Cheadle, Managing Director for JPM Interactive.
“We are extremely pleased that a leading company such as Ladbrokes sees the online potential and we are highly confident it will be well played and a high earning game for them.”
