JC Tran Claims PartyPoker Premier League III Title
By Staff
After a long battle between 12 of the world’s best poker players followed by an exceptionally tough final table, PKR-sponsored Asian Poker Tour ambassador JC Tran has won the PartyPoker Premier League III crown and $300,000 of a $1.25m prize pool.

The final table included online superstar Tom Dwan; PartyPoker Premier League II champion Juha Helppi; loud and aggressive pro Tony G; WSOP 2008 Main Event champion Peter Eastgate and UK pro Roland de Wolfe.

“This is brilliant and I am so happy,” said Tran. “I have been feeling good all week and it is amazing to win this event. Until this week I had never played in Europe before - I really couldn’t ask for more! Perhaps I should move here! I would like to thank everybody who has made my trip to London such a wonderful experience.”

In the final hand the blinds were at $20k/$40k and Tran limped in with 97o. Tony checked with K8o and then check-raised all in on a 576 flop that had given him an open-ended straight draw and two overcards. Tran called with top pair and a gutshot straight draw that held up to win him the tournament and $300,000.
