Seinfeld Actor Signs For PokerStars

PokerStars.com has added yet another name to its already extensive list of celebrity spokespeople that represent the online poker room both over the Internet and at top land-based tournaments.

American actor Jason Alexander, best known for playing George Costanza in the 1990s award-winning television series Seinfeld, has joined the site’s team of global celebrity ambassadors that includes former baseball great Orel Hershiser, NHL player Mats Sundin and three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker.

“PokerStars has very graciously asked me to sign on as one of their official players,” said 49-year-old Alexander.

“I am very flattered and happy to be playing for a real quality site and with the kind of professionals that remind me every day how truly mediocre I am at this game. But I'm learning and now I can learn from some of the best.”

PokerStars revealed that Alexander would appear at live events including the 2009 World Series of Poker and its international poker circuit while playing online under the moniker ‘J. Alexander’.

Alexander has played in a few major events in the past including the NBC Heads-Up Championship 2008 sporting a PokerStars shirt and was a regular on the now cancelled Celebrity Poker Showdown television programme.
