Japan’s giant Sega Corporation has become the latest company to enter the online gaming market after launching its SegaCasino.com and SegaPoker.com domains earlier this week.
Operated by subsidiary SegaGames Limited, SegaCasino.com features a suite of gaming products including blackjack and roulette as well as customised Sega branded slots such as Virtua Fighter, House Of The Dead and Nights while SegaPoker.com offers live multi-player poker for up to 30,000 concurrent competitors.
The Alderney-licensed sites offer customers ‘unique promotions based on the Sega franchise’ but prohibit players based in the US, Japan and other jurisdictions where online gaming is outlawed.
“Sega has been a trusted brand and a favourite among the gaming industry for over half a century,” read a statement from Sega.
“It is our goal to translate these attributes to offer a leading online casino and online poker room. We want to give our SegaCasino.com and SegaPoker.com players every opportunity to participate in the entire Sega experience.”
The sites were designed and developed in collaboration with online casino software provider Playtech Limited with Sega stating that it plans to release more platforms over the next year.
