|SELLERS & BURTON STILL HOLD ALL THE CARDS|
Film icons star in new Ladbrokescasino.com advertisements
Ladbrokescasino.com, the world's biggest online casino, is launching a new press ad campaign starring film icons of yesteryear Peter Sellers and Richard Burton.
The glossy seventies inspired work reflects the glamour of the British casino of the period and, with the strap-line 'Beautiful people come to Ladbrokescasino.com', depict Sellers and Burton in their element - holding court at Blackjack tables, winning money, surrounded by a bevy of gorgeous women. The campaign builds on the success of Ladbrokescasino.com's distinctive 'beautiful people' press advertising which ran earlier this year, recreating the seventies heyday of the casino.
Sellers and Burton's rejuvenation through the ads prove that, despite having passed away 25 and 18 years ago, they are still among the most fondly regarded British showbiz stars with a pull that here today, gone tomorrow manufactured stars can only dream about.
To achieve the authentic Seventies feel to the advertisements Ladbrokes recreated a casino with surroundings and models dressed according to the period. Hours of painstaking image-altering techniques enabled the images of Burton and Sellers to be included in the casino scenes. Advertising agency Banks Hoggins O'Shea FCB, developed the concept and creative.
Ladbrokes eGaming Managing Director John O'Reilly commented: 'We wanted to create some striking imagery - and using icons like Burton and Sellers really makes people sit up and take notice. The style and confidence they exude fits perfectly with our online casino.'
There is a third creative in development featuring another seventies icon but who will it be? Ladbrokes are currently pricing up the following celebs:
5/1 DAVID NIVEN
6/1 MICHAEL CAINE
8/1 TOM JONES
10/1 ENGLEBERT HUMPERDINK
10/1 TONY CURTIS
12/1 PATRICK MOWER
12/1 PETER WYNGATE
16/1 ADAM FAITH
16/1 ROD STEWART
20/1 DAVID SOUL
50/1 DIANA DOORS
The ads will be appearing in consumer lifestyle magazines and glossy supplements of the national press.
